The entrance mat that through all the years has proved to be one of the best weapons in the struggle against dirt from the street - the Kobe Original Entrance mat. The entrance mat that wipes off the dirt while walking on it. The first step to a better interior environment is to stop the dirt at the entrance. You do that with a well chosen wiping mat.

Flooring material is expensive to buy, but even more expensive to maintain

If you calculate the total cost during the whole life of the flooring, the purchase cost is only 10 percent, whereas the expenses for cleaning, maintenance and repair amount to 90 percent. Fully 80 percent of the cleaning cost is caused by the removal of the dirt brought in from the street.

Better interior environment with a well-adapted entrance mat

Almost nobody stops and wipes their feet when entering a building. With its aggressive rubber curves the Kobe Original entrance mat functions like a windscreen wiper, when you walk on it without employing wiping movements with the feet. The rubber curves wipe off dirt, sand, dust and water from the shoes. It is, therefore, important to choose a well adapted length of mat.Try to allow for at least three steps with every foot to achieve a good function.

Ten Years Warranty

Is valid from the month of delivery and covers repairs of rectangular mats due to faults in material and manufacture as well as natural wear, all at no charge. The warranty does not cover the cost of transportation or repairs caused by mistreatment and in case the mats are not used, installed and maintained according to instruction.

Flexible Entrances

Gives aesthetical freedom with retained function. Kobe Original entrance mats can be laid outdoors and indoors. The shape might be rectangular, round or with chamfered edges, entirely according to customer´s wishes. Send a sketch or template, and we make the shape required.

Re-inforcement applied on exposed Entrances

If the entrance mat is expected to be exposed to exceptional wear, e.g. caused by trolleys, the reinforced variant of the Kobe entrance mat has to be employed. The re-inforced entrance mat should also be applied on inclined floors in combination with dowels on the bedding.

Remark:We guarantee that the entrance mat endures trolleys with a weight of up to 200 kilos.

Measurements / Size

Total thickness: 22 mm alternatively 18 mm. Kobe Original Entrance mats are custom-made in optional size. Maximum measurements 2000 x 5000 mm (A x B) in one piece. In case of larger surfaces to be covered the mats will be divided into suitable sections.We can manufacture Entrance mats in almost any shape to a drawing or a template.

Take a step forward and make the entrance a little brighter and more attractive

Kobe Original Grafit with grey rubber as one alternative, or in combination with the ordinary Kobe Original entrance mat with black rubber.The primary function to stop dirt and water from dragging to the flooring is still maintained. The difference is the possibility to choose a different colour or pattern, if the dimensions of the entrance allow for it.

6 Years Warranty

We grant 6 years warranty for the Kobe Original Grafit. The terms and conditions are the same as for the ordinary Kobe Original entrance mat.

How the entrance mat is laid

Generally speaking the mat should be laid on solid and even bedding

	1.	On existing Floor. If the mat is placed on an inclined floor or a tread, it is recommended that dowels be provided to prevent the mat from sliding.
	2.	On existing Floor. The mat can be equipped with a Kobe Mat Ramp type 1 on the front or rear edge to avoid the risk of stumbling.
	3.	On existing Floor. If the mat is placed against a threshold or a tread, a Kobe Mat Ramp type 1 arranged against the front edge can be added.
	4.	"Depressed" on existing Floor. Kobe Mat Ramp type 2 around all sides of the mat. The ramp lies loose and should be fixed with screws if possible.
	5.	"Depressed" on existing Floor. Kobe Mat Ramp type 2 can be installed on 2 or 3 sides, if the mat is placed against a threshold or a tread. It should be fixed against the floor by means of screws.
	6.	Depressed in Floor. The mat should be depressed 20 - 22 mm. In order to protect the surrounding edges of the floor the fitting of a Kobe kerb angle frame is recommended.
	7.	Existing recess in Floor. În the mat is placed in a recess with less depth than 15 mm, Kobe special ramps should be installed on the front and rear edge.
	8.	Soil tray underneath the Mat. Kobe soil tray has a proper sand separator. It is manufactured with or without water trap.
	9.	Mat on Drainage Grid. To achieve a "self-cleaning" effect the mat can be laid on a Kobe drainage grid on top of a deeper depression.

How to handle the original mat

The Kobe Original Mat is designed to wipe sand and dirt from shoe soles. The construction is such that a lot of sand could be contained in the mat without making it look untidy.

No heavy Lifts with the Kobe Original Mat

The Kobe mat does not have to be lifted to remove sand and dirt. Take a simple grip with the Kobe mat lifter and fold the mat about 15 cm. After that you just roll up the mat and remove the sand and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or a brush. Roll up long mats from both ends. The mat has two top faces and should be turned upside down at least once a year to achieve uniform wear on both sides for maximum life.
