Gangways for disabled People
Weland manufactures solid, safe and easily assembled gangways for disabled people. These high quality gangways are available in three different types of material: Standard grating, slit grating or aluminum.

Access to building
At least one entrance to a building must be available for people with reduced ability to move or of orientation, arranged and designed in such a way that it can be used by these people. -
General Advice.
Gangways should: be horizontal or inclined maximum 1:12 between at least 2 m long rest landings, have a difference in height of maximum 0.5 metre between the rest landings and minimum 1.3 metres width. In certain cases, e.g. when adapted individually, a narrower gangway could be accepted. -
Entrance and
Gangways in rooms or in connecting ways should be inclined maximum 1:12 and have maximum o.5 metre difference in height between minimum 2 metres long rest landings.
As according to rule the difference in height for a gangway must not exceed 0.5 metres, for instance a gangway with 1:12 slope has to be designed with maximum 6 metres length. -
Railings and Handrail
Gangways not bordered by walls must have railings to reduce the risk for personal injuries. Gangways at higher level than 0.5metres must have handrails or similar on both sides.
